Vote YES Question 1 this November. Tourism is one of Maine's largest industries, employing about 106,000 people — or one out of every six jobs in our state. However, because of the short season which depends on outdoor activities, our local businesses can't get the most out of it. By voting YES on Question 1, we can help our tourism industry extend the season. YES on 1 will approve the establishment of a gaming and entertainment venue in York County which is projected to generate over $45 million for Maine citizens each year without raising taxes. 1 The new facility will support not only the hotels and local businesses of the hosting community in southern Maine, but also the tourism industry of the entire state.
