22 Giving Guide 2017 Worcester Business Journal www.wbjournal.com Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center Inc. Future Goals The Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center creates healthier lives for the people who live and work in our community. Our staff and clinicians work diligently to address the social determining factors of health that keep people from living a quality life. We accomplish this goal through preventive health care that supports active living, healthy eating, regular oral and eye care, and strong emotional and mental health. We are a valued member of our community, as we: • Serve as a clinical arm for community-based health • Partner with other organizations to support public health • Provide services in a more cost efficient manner • Support hospital system costs by keeping patients healthy • Employ a community workforce • Buy goods and services locally Without Kennedy CHC, 26,000 patients a year would have little or no access to primary care; their health and well-being impacts the quality of life in Central Massachusetts. To move this agenda forward, the six pillars of our Vision 2020 are: 1. Best in Class Clinical Care 2. Strong Financial Performance 3. Strong Networks 4. Operational Excellence 5. Employer of Choice 6. Innovative Technology Fundraising Events/Opportunities The Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center hosts two signature events each year. In the spring, our staff, patients and the community join us for Walk a Mile in My Shoes: Kennedy CHC Walk for a Healthier Community. This event calls attention to the importance of our work through a healthy and fun family activity. In the fall, we present the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Award to one individual and one organization making an impact on the health and wellness of the communities we serve. This opportunity allows the community to recognize the good works of those who support the mission and vision of Kennedy CHC. Support for these events can be made through sponsorships, donations and attendance. For more information, contact Paula Green, Vice President, Advancement at paula.green@kennedychc.org Volunteer Opportunities Volunteers are always welcome at Kennedy CHC. We welcome individuals who would like to serve on our Board or Advancement Committee. Help is also needed in our administrative areas, as well as in assisting us in keeping our facilities fresh and up-to-date for our patients. Volunteers can give us as much time as they have available and we always strive to find the best fit so that they feel valued and that their time is well-spent. Giving Opportunities Kennedy CHC continues to implement its strategic philanthropic plan that has already begun to raise the visibility of and recognition for the tremendous impact the organization makes in the more than 84 communities it serves.
