Last year, WCFB volunteers assisted in distributing food that provided 4.8 million meals to people in-need across Worcester County! WCFB volunteers help provide safe food to the community by sorting, inspecting, and organizing donated food and grocery products. WCFB is located in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and requires that individuals looking to volunteer sign up for a recurring two-hour time slot once per week on the same day each week. Volunteering with our Partners: WCFB's warehouse is located in Shrewsbury. But there may be a volunteer opportunity right down the street from you. We encourage people looking to volunteer to check our website at www.foodbank.org/volunteer to learn about volunteer needs at our Partner Agencies and hunger-related community partner organizations across Worcester County. Giving Opportunities Fund Donations Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB) accepts donations of funds year-round. These valuable contributions nourish bodies and bring peace of mind to individuals and families across all 60 cities and towns in Worcester County. Your financial donation goes an especially long way towards creating a hunger-free Worcester County. For every $1 received, Worcester County Food Bank can distribute $5 worth of food. We are proud to have a 4-star Charity Navigator rating. Donations accepted via mail, online and in-person. Food Donations WCFB welcomes food donations from food drives and the food industry within Worcester County year-round. Food drives are a wonderful way for people to support WCFB and directly support individuals and families living in Worcester County. With a little planning and some helpful hints from WCFB, your food drive can be successful and rewarding. Learn about hunger in Worcester County, what WCFB is doing to help our neighbors struggling with hunger, and how our facility receives, processes and distributes over six million pounds of food annually. Tours take place on the 1st Thursday of the month at either 3:00 pm or 6:00 pm and last approximately an hour. The drive raises food and funds. Stop by, donate food or money, and meet SRS morning hosts Suzanne and Greg and WCFB's staff and volunteers at Price Chopper on Pullman Street in Worcester. One in 10 people in our community struggles with hunger, and to fully meet the need in Worcester County, Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB) would need to provide access to more than nine million additional meals per year. WCFB has just completed a Strategic Plan to enable us to meet more of the need for meals in our community. By 2020, our goal is to provide 11.8 million meals annually through food distribution and federal nutrition programs. We will focus on four Strategic Goal Areas: • Food Distribution and Partner Agency Support • Federal Nutrition Programs • Advocacy and Movement Building • Investing in Organizational Excellence
