N
amed American Home Brewers
Association's top NH brewery, award-
winning Moonlight Meadery is on track
to bring mead back – into your glass, that is.
It started when Founder and President
Michael Fairbrother started making mead as a
hobby to escape the daily grind of his corporate
job, where he'd traded a creative role for success
and promotion. After the tech-job economy
dipped in 2010, he went all-in on his dream of
opening a meadery.
"Our meads are produced by mixing honey,
water and yeast," says VP of sales and
marketing, Berniece Van Der Berg. Flavorings
like fruits, spices and coffee can be added. The
mixture is racked into stainless steel fermenters
and left for three to five months before being
ready for consumption.
