ēf Farms is a modern marvel of agricultural
achievement – all for the love of baby greens.
The most recent venture of President and
CEO Henry Huntington, lēf Farms is more than
just a simple greenhouse – the greens you'll get
from lēf are unique.
"Here at lēf, we grow our baby greens in a
fully-automated hydroponic system, which
means no hands touch them throughout our
entire process," says Donald Grandmaison, sales
and marketing manager.
The baby greens – grown pesticide-free – are
seeded in peat moss, grown at 75-degrees
Fahrenheit for 14 days, and then harvested and
bagged in a 35-degrees Fahrenheit cooler,
preserving taste and shelf life.
A series of mechanical arms and conveyor
belts across the greenhouse all the bagging –
human hands-free, as advertised.
The greens are then shipped within 24 hours
and distributed regionally around the entirety of
New England.
