Movers & Shakers Adam Lehmann has been admitted as tax accounting and risk advisory services partner and Mike Notarangelo as audit partner in the Hartford office of Grant Thornton LLP. Lehmann, a CPA, joined the firm in 2013 and has more than 15 years of experience specializing in income tax accounting and corporate tax consulting for multinational public and private companies. Prior to being admitted as partner, Lehmann was a managing director. Notarangelo, a CPA, joined the firm in 2011 and has more than 13 years of audit, accounting and consulting experience in national and regional accounting firms. Prior to being admitted as partner, Notarangelo was a senior manager. Tomas Orozco has been named president of Anthem Inc.'s Medicare east region. He will oversee Anthem's Medicare operations in Connecticut, Florida, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Virginia. Previously, Orozco served as president of Simply Healthcare's Medicare business in Florida. Dr. Vasanth Kainkaryam has been named chief medical officer for East Hartford- based First Choice Health Centers. Kainkaryam is a board-certified internist and pediatrician. He was formerly the medical director of the Hartford HealthCare Health Center, a primary care practice resulting from a collaboration between Hartford HealthCare and Boston-based Iora Health. He is also an assistant clinical professor at the Quinnipiac University Frank H. Netter School of Medicine and UConn School of Medicine. Zachary V. Alexander, Taylor C. Amato, Alexis L. Beyerlein, Brian J. Glenn and Alyssa A. Helal are joining Day Pitney LLP as associates in the law firm's Hartford and West Hartford offices this fall. Alexander, trusts and estates and individual clients, was a summer apprentice with Day Pitney in 2015 and served as judicial law clerk to The Honorable Peter T. Zarella and then, The Honorable Gregory T. D'Auria of the Connecticut Supreme Court. He will be a resident of the firm's West Hartford office. Amato, real estate and land use, will be a resident of the firm's Hartford office. Beyerlein, complex commercial litigation, was a summer apprentice with Day Pitney in 2015 and served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable Bethany J. Alvord of the Connecticut Appellate Court. She will be a resident of the firm's Hartford office. Glenn, complex commercial litigation, was a summer associate with Day Pitney in 2016. He will be a resident of the firm's Hartford office. Helal, complex tort litigation, will be a resident of the firm's Hartford office. Adrian Hester has been promoted to sales manager for Hoffman Audi of East Hartford, part of Hoffman Auto Group, for which he's worked several years. Paul Norris has been appointed managing director, head of structured products, at Hartford global investment management firm Conning, and Matthew Daly was promoted to managing director, head of corporate credit research. Norris will lead a team of traders and analysts and oversee all research, investment and trading in structured securities for Conning in the U.S. He joins Conning from Mariner Investment Group, where he was a portfolio manager for a mortgage hedge fund. Daly, who will oversee the corporate credit research team, has been with Conning since 2003. He joined the firm from Webster Bank, where he was employed as a credit analyst. Dave Mattesen has been appointed general manager of the 132-room Hyatt House Windsor and Candy Iannucci-Guay as director of sales. Hyatt House Windsor is managed by Waterford Hotel Group. Mattesen is responsible for all of the hotel's operations, sales and administration, and all employees. Since 2005, he has held several positions at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley International Airport, also a Waterford- managed property, most recently as director of operations. Iannucci-Guay will oversee hotel sales efforts and supervise sales personnel. She joined Waterford Hotel Group as part of the opening team at the Marriott Hartford in 2005 and has held sales manager roles for the Marriott Hartford Downtown and Hilton Hartford. Shane Arnold has been appointed executive chef for the 393-room Hilton Hartford. Arnold's responsibilities include menu creation and management of all food departments throughout the Hilton, including the hotel's restaurant, m&m Bistro. Arnold comes from the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley International Airport, where he was executive chef. Rick Cheung has joined the Connecticut Education Network in Farmington as a network technician overseeing the network engineering team. Cheung brings about 18 years of experience from Sprint Corp.
