Additionally, CPAs Dana Gilbert, Kevin Hoagland and J. Tobias Freeman were promoted to assurance senior manager; CPAs Brian Trueman, Colin Rosenberg and Vikas U. Thaker were promoted to tax senior manager; and CPAs Alexandra Marsh, Thomas Watson and Zev Kizelnik were promoted to manager. Kurth is a leader in the firm's government services and construction industry practices and has more than 20 years of experience providing audit, accounting, consulting and forensic services to government agencies, contractors, service providers and construction companies. Gilbert is a member of the firm's financial services industry group. Hoagland is a member of its financial services industry group. Freeman is a member of the firm's commercial real estate, affordable housing and not-for-profit industry practices. Trueman and Rosenberg serve a large range of companies from small privately held to large multinational corporations. Thaker provides tax and consulting services. Matthew T. Huber has joined People's United Bank as senior vice president, market manager-health care financial services, specializing in providing financial services to healthcare companies across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Huber will lead the focus on banking for-profit and nonprofit healthcare service companies across many segments. Huber brings more than 19 years of commercial lending and managerial experience to his new role. He spent the last eight years with First Niagara Bank, building a similar healthcare banking business, and most recently at successor Key Bank N.A., developing its enterprise healthcare strategy. Richard Conti has joined Quast Media LLC, a digital marketing firm based in Manchester, as director of business development. Conti will work with new and existing clients at the firm, which specializes in digital technologies including digital signage hardware and software, custom content and video production services. Prior to joining Quast Media, Conti was a senior business development executive with Brafton Inc., a Boston-based marketing firm. Christina Clifton has joined Foxwoods Resort Casino as vice president of food and beverage. Her responsibilities include developing new food and beverage concepts, selecting food and beverage products and developing new menus. Clifton has significant experience with wine, mixology and the culinary arts. Most recently, she was the founder and CEO of FishFork LLC, where she oversaw the development of all projects and openings for Sugar Factory American Brasserie. Prior to developing her own business, she held leadership roles at major Las Vegas resorts and at three Four Seasons Hotels. Theodora Sirota has been appointed chair of the University of St. Joseph Department of Nursing in West Hartford. Sirota, who has a doctorate in nursing research and theory development and maintains active clinical certifications as an advanced practice clinical nurse specialist and clinical nurse leader, comes to USJ from Caldwell University in New Jersey, where she was a tenured professor and director of the Department of Nursing. Luis Rodriguez has been promoted to manufacturing manager at New Britain- based MicroCare Corp. He will oversee all manufacturing processes, including more than 30 employees. Previously, Rodriguez was a production supervisor, managing about a dozen people. Rodriguez has worked 11 years at MicroCare, a manufacturer of fluids and tools used for critical cleaning in myriad industries, including medical devices. Dr. Scott Walker was named medical director of Ledgecrest Health Care Center in Kensington, a rehabilitation and long-term living facility that is part of Apple Rehab Inc. He will assure the facility's quality medical care and act as each resident's personal physician during their stay. Walker is board certified in internal medicine and a former clinical instructor at New York Medical College. Natasha Quinn, senior medical assistant at Community Health Center Inc. in Middletown, has been elected to the board of directors of the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement. Quinn has been with CHC for more than 13 years, and was instrumental in developing the teaching component of NIMAA, which was recently authorized by the Connecticut Office of Higher Education as a private occupational school for medical assistant training. Quinn served as a preceptor during the program's first year. Ashley Johnson has been hired as director of compliance for Vesta Corp., a real estate firm based in the Weatogue section of Simsbury that specializes in the redevelopment of distressed affordable housing communities. Johnson has been hired to guide all regulatory compliance activities across the portfolio and lead a compliance team that is responsible for reviewing property and resident files and other documents to assess and ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
