In the coming months, Trinity Health will conduct a national search for a new CEO. Trinity Health Board Chairman Kevin J. O'Connor called Dadlez a "steadfast" leader whose business acumen helped the health system grow. Prospect names new Waterbury Hospital CEO For-profit hospital operator Prospect Medical Holdings recently named Peter Adamo president and CEO of Waterbury Hospital and the Greater Waterbury Health Network, effective Aug. 18. Adamo succeeds Lester Schindel, who had been serving as interim CEO. Prospect said Schindel will serve as executive vice president of the Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) of New York. Adamo most recently served as regional CEO for Roxborough Memorial and Suburban Community Hospitals in Philadelphia. He began his career at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia and has held executive positions in hospitals and healthcare settings across the country. Sharon Hospital acquisition complete Connecticut's first for-profit hospital has officially switched back. New York-based Health Quest subsidiary Vassar Health recently acquired the 78-bed Sharon Hospital from Essent Healthcare of Connecticut, an affiliate of RCCH Healthcare Partners, for $5 million. e deal was first announced last September. Sharon CEO Peter Cordeau, who will stay on as president of the hospital and a member of Health Quest's executive team, said late last year that the deal had nothing to do with being a for-profit, but that it was needed to improve ties to the region. Headache center opens in West Hartford A new Hartford HealthCare Headache Center has opened at Blue Back Square in West Hartford, occupying a 3,700-square-foot space at 65 Memorial Road, Suite 508. e state-of-the-art facility, part of the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute, offers eight exam rooms, special shades and lighting, a headache psychologist, clinical trials, medication infusion bays and related healthcare services, according to Hartford HealthCare, adding that patients who travel long distances can get discounted hotel rates locally. It complements a headache center in Meriden and another planned in Waterford this fall. Starling Physicians debuts access center for dialysis patients Starling Physicians has completed a project announced earlier this year to relocate and expand its access center for patients who receive kidney dialysis. e center, which moved from Hartford to Newington, is staffed with two surgeons and two board-certified nephrologists specializing in interventional nephrology to evaluate and treat common problems associated with the catheters, gras and fistulas necessary for dialysis access. e new facility has double the capacity of the former Hartford location and is located at 505 Willard Ave., Building 1, in Newington. e access center allows patients to receive consultations, surgery and post-operative care.
