MISSION STATEMENT Maine Family Planning's mission is to ensure that all Maine people have access to high-quality, affordable reproductive health care, comprehensive sexual health education, and the right to control their reproductive lives. SERVICE LOCATION(S) Maine Family Planning provides direct services at 18 clinics in 12 of Maine's 16 counties: Androscoggin, Aroostook, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Penobscot, Somerset, Waldo, and Washington. We also subcontract with a number of other Partners in Reproductive Health throughout the state. In addition, we manage the Maine Families home visiting program for new parents in Hancock County and the WIC Nutrition program in Hancock and Washington Counties. Maine Family Planning 2018 GOALS In 2018 Maine Family Planning will continue to provide comprehensive reproductive health care for over 22,000 women, men and teens across Maine, particularly those who are low-income, underinsured or uninsured. We hope to expand access to our Project Open Door, which currently off ers specialized transgender health care at our Lewiston and Waterville clinics. Our Teen Pregnancy Prevention staff will continue off ering training, technical assistance, and other support to schools and organizations that work with Maine youth. Maine Families will continue its home visiting program for pregnant women, expectant fathers and parents of young children, while our WIC programs will continue to provide supplemental healthy food for eligible pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding or non- breastfeeding women, and infants and children up to age fi ve. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES Maine Family Planning's signature fundraising event is its annual Birds and the Bees Spring Soirée. is year's Soirée will be held on May 5, 2018 at the Portland Country Club in Falmouth, featuring live music, fi ne food, live and silent auctions, and a spectacular raffl e. Corporate and individual sponsorships of the evening are key to its success, as are donations of unique items and experiences to the auctions. e Soirée is Maine Family Planning's largest fundraising undertaking of the year; proceeds benefi t our statewide programming.
