I lead Prudential Retirement's financial planning and analysis team, which is comprised of associates in Hartford and Newark. My team is responsible for the completion of financial forecasts and planning cycles for Pruden- tial's Retirement business. We are also responsible for completing presentations used externally, such as Investor Day materials, and supporting corporate finance requests. What are your goals in your current job? My primary goal is to ensure my team is producing accurate finan- cial forecasts and meaningful analytics that allow senior leaders to make informed business decisions. In return, this helps Prudential Retirement deliver long-term financial security to individuals, directly and through institutions and intermediaries. What's your biggest passion? I was raised by my grand- parents who taught me the value of hard work and per- severance at a very young age. Their lessons inspired me to become the first member of my family to attend college and I've continued to apply their teachings in my professional life. My biggest passion is passing these values on to my children and helping put them in position to succeed. I also take pride in motivating and developing my team through coaching and mentoring. What are your future professional aspirations? I aspire to continue growing as a financial professional, but more importantly want to continue developing as a leader at Prudential. I've enjoyed a successful career at Prudential and have been blessed with an incred- ible network of family, friends and mentors who have helped me along the way. As I progress in my career, I want to ensure I'm "paying it forward" by having a positive impact on my peers and associates. How are you involved in the community? My commu- nity involvement is primarily through work-sponsored events, such as Habitat for Humanity builds and team service events. In addition, my wife serves on the board of directors for the Jacob Roger Poulin Founda- tion and I look for opportunities to actively support this organization whenever possible. What do you hope Greater Hartford will be like in 10 years? My hope is that Greater Hartford has capital- ized on its potential to become a hub for business and destination for finance professionals. The region has access to talent via its colleges and universities, is near major cities and offers a high quality of life. However, for this hope to become a reality, we will need to change our current business climate, continue to rejuvenate the downtown area and successfully attract and retain talent within the region. List four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: I was the first member of my family to attend and graduate from college. I've continually progressed as a financial professional at Prudential receiving multiple promotions and assuming additional responsibilities over a 13-year career. I've successfully lead multiple cross-departmental projects within Prudential ranging from business integration projects to collaboration initiatives. I'm the executive sponsor for the Retirement Finance Diversity Initiative and serve as a mentor to multiple associates across the organization. I'm an avid fisherman and have taken over 30 fishing trips ranging from Canada to Florida.
