That's the bank of you!" BankHometown's sister bank overwent a similar rebranding. Easthampton Savings Bank, based in the town of the same name, became bankESB at the same time. The two banks didn't com- pletely merge, though. They formed what they called a stra- tegic partnership by merging their holding companies and creating an entity with more than $1.7 billion in assets, more than $180 million in equity cap- ital and 23 offices across Central and Western Massachusetts, as well as northeastern Connecticut. Each bank continued running inde- pendently and autonomously. BankESB acquired Citizens National Bank of Putnam, Conn., in 2015. The bank is far larger than bankHometown, with $1.4 billion of the combined entity's $1.7 billion in assets.
