Burbank 1973 Teamed with Quinsigamond Community College in February to pro- vide job training and finan- cial literacy training to help long-term unemployed workers develop job skills and financial management tools. Had 101,642 new members sign up in 2016 alone, bringing to 700 the number of businesses and organizations whose employees bank there. Net income for the year hit nearly $87 million. Paid out $3.3 million to its members last year and saw its assets grow by 14 percent, which it said was the highest rate of any credit union in Massachusetts. Saw net income more than double last year to nearly $4.3 million. Assets rose by $54 million, and the credit union made more than 5,000 loans. Named its new permanent CEO in March, choosing Kate Alexander, who had been filling the spot on an interim basis. She joined the credit union as chief sales and retail officer in May 2016.
