wbjournal.com | Book of Lists 2017 | Worcester Business Journal 7 F or the last 32 years, privately-owned Corporate Environmental Advisors (CEA) has successfully complet- ed approximately 8,000 projects that have enabled our clients to comply with the complex array of environmen- tal regulations they face. Co-founded in 1985 and origi- nally located in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, CEA, Inc. has expanded its portfolio of services through the years and was acquired by Joseph S. Campisi in 2016. He serves as Principal Hydrogeologist and President of the firm, which is now headquartered at a former brownfield site in West Boylston. CEA also has offices in Westbrook, Maine, Colchester, Connecticut, and Concord, New Hampshire. CEA provides a full spectrum of environmental consulting services, including environmental due diligence and engineer- ing; site assessment and remediation; environmental health and safety (EH&S); industrial hygiene; hazardous building material assessments; emergency response and multi-media sampling; and related field services. Currently focused on the Northeast, CEA has worked with clients in diverse industries, including biopharma, healthcare, academia, insurance and real estate. The firm has also conduct- ed projects with major petroleum retailers, Fortune 500 firms, private developers and state and federal agencies. CEA maintains an edge on the competition due to its invest- ment in staff, technology, management and its project tracking system. The firm's professional staff and its management struc- ture ensure every project receives optimal attention from knowledgeable, experienced industry experts. Professional engineers (PE); licensed site professionals (LSPs); licensed environmental professionals (LEPs); certified industrial hygienists (CIHs); certified asbestos inspectors; certified wet- land scientists; human health risk assessors; EHS compliance specialists; CAD operators; and environmental scientists pro- vide cost-effective, high quality, practical solutions to a range of environmental challenges. In June, CEA acquired Boyle Associates of Maine, which will enable the company to provide geographic diversity. "More important, this acquisition will push us into a different market and service mix," says Campisi. "Boyle Associates focuses on environmental permitting and compliance, wetlands delinea- tion and natural resource assessment for renewable energy projects, including wind and solar, and more traditional energy projects, such as transmission lines, substations, and pipelines." Campisi points out that Massachusetts has a robust renew- able energy program; many of CEA's projects benefit from that program. "These new clients tend to be utilities and energy developers that focus on solar and wind energy," he adds. Since Boyle Associates works primarily in Maine and New Hampshire, providing consulting for gas pipelines, transmission lines, solar farms and wind energy projects, CEA hopes to build this energy-related consulting practice across the Northeast in time. In addition to expanding its service area, CEA anticipates providing environmental health and safety consulting on a national basis. The new acquisition and expansion of services may prompt a ten to 20 percent growth in business with a relat- ed revenue boost, according to Campisi. The long-term objec- tive is for CEA to become a national force, providing real advocacy for our clients, enabling them to make significant investments that will support growth of their business and protection of environmental resources. n Advocates for our Client's Environmental Needs Street Address: 127 Hartwell Street, Suite 2 Phone Number: (508) 835-8822 Website: www.cea-inc.com Product or Service Description: Environmental Due Diligence, Environmental Compliance, Environmental Permitting, EHS Management, Industrial Hygiene Assessments, Site Investigation, Remedial Design, Remediation, and Regulatory Closure Number of Employees: 18 Head of Company and Title: Joseph S.
