Real estate is particularly strong in the two counties. In Cumberland County, a lot has been written about the shortage of industrial and warehouse space, with demand being driven by the craft-beer and cannabis industries. In York County, residential real estate is in hot demand, with relatively tight inventory and demand from buyers from New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The most recent Census also showed that, even as Maine's population remains static, the population of Maine's two most-southerly counties grew.
