(CERC), a nonprofit economic development firm based in Rocky Hill, has hired Jessica Inacio to assist with business recruitment and research initiatives, and Sa- die Colcord as a municipal services intern. Inacio is a business recruitment specialist and will support CERC's business-development initiatives by coordinating recruitment efforts and managing rela- tionships with key stakeholders in Connecticut's busi- ness community and economic development network. Prior to joining CERC, she worked for the city of Hartford as an executive policy adviser and the Con- necticut General Assembly as a legislative aide. Colcord will work with CERC's vice president of municipal services to assist local towns in grant- writing and developing strategies for growing the local business community. Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski promotes CPA to partner Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski LLC (GDS), a certi- fied public accounting firm in Middletown, has promot- ed CPA Michael Kovaleski as a new partner at the firm. Kovaleski is a financial and tax accountant with more than 27 years of experience serving a vari- ety of nonprofit, business and individual tax clients. Previously, he served as director at GDS with ex- pertise in the preparation of cost reports for the Departments of Developmental Services and Social Services (DSS), as well as audits of group homes. The Hartford names chief risk officer The Hartford has named Robert Paiano chief risk officer to lead the company's enterprise risk manage- ment operations, effective July 1. Paiano succeeds Robert Rupp, who is retiring. Paiano will report to The Hartford's chairman and CEO, Christopher Swift. Paiano has served as corporate treasurer since 2010, overseeing capital and liquidity management, corporate banking and treasury operations. He joined The Hartford in 1996 as senior vice president of cor- porate finance. He has held positions in enterprise risk manage- ment, capital management, corporate banking, in- vestment management and reinsurance. Prior to join- ing The Hartford, Paiano held positions at American Express Co., Citicorp Inc., First Interstate Bancorp and ITT Residential Capital Corp. Rupp will remain a risk-management adviser to Swift through Dec. 31. CT Academy of Physician Assistants installs president, other officers The Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants (CONNAPA) has installed officers for the 2017-18 year, with Deanna Zimkus named president. Zim- kus, a practicing PA since 2009, works for Advanced Dermatology Center PC in Wolcott. Wells Fargo names head of Northeast region for Business Banking Group Wells Fargo's Business Banking Group, part of Wells Fargo & Co., has named John Cole head of its Northeast region, which includes Connecticut. The Business Banking Group moved from three to seven regions, with a banking leader appointed for each to provide business banking customers with more localized support and market expertise. Prior to his new role, Cole, a 17-year company veteran based in Summit, N.J., led the Northeast re- gion as part of the previous structure for the Eastern region. He now oversees close to 200 team members in seven states. Pinck & Co. hires business development director for southern New England Pinck & Co, a real estate advisory firm, announced that Alan Lisowski has joined the firm as director of business development for southern New England in the company's Glastonbury office. Lisowski will develop Pinck & Co.'s portfolio of west- ern Massachusetts and Connecticut clients, continuing the company's focus on senior and affordable housing, health care, education and mixed-use development. He was previously director of business development for Skanska USA Building Inc. in Milford. Industry association board adds Webster Bank executive John Olerio, senior vice president and director of Webster Investment Services, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Bank Insurance & Securities Association. Olerio, who has been with Webster Bank since 1997, served as national sales manager for Webster Invest- ments before being named director in 2015. Cigna names market president for region that includes southern CT Bloomfield insurer Cigna has named David Ko- bus as market president for its tri-state market, giv- ing him direct oversight of Cigna's business in New York, New Jersey and southern Connecticut. Kobus' responsibilities at Cigna include further strengthening the company's position as a health service partner that helps healthcare professionals deliver better outcomes, improves affordability and provides meaningful experience to its local custom- ers and clients. Kobus joins Cigna after a decade at Aetna, where he most recently served as executive director for the New York market.
