2017 | Doing Business in Connecticut 7 Educated and Productive Workforce I f there's one thing Connecticut is known for, it's excellent school systems. And that extends from early childhood education through high school and on to higher education. Connecticut is home to many marquee univer- sities, including Yale, Wesleyan and Fairfield, which produce graduates that are prepared for the high-tech careers of the 21st Century. e state supported schools, including the Univer- sity of Connecticut and the Connecticut State University System, are equally committed to preparing students for companies located in the state. Additionally, the state's community colleges are open to partnering with employers to custom design degree programs that produce immediately employable grads. With such a strong educational environment, it's no wonder that Connecticut is in the top 10 in the nation in terms of productivity and ranks third in the nation for residents with advanced degrees. Skilled labor is in good supply in Connec cut. PHOTO/FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY Fairfield University is one of many colleges in the state that helps provide a steady stream of highly educated workers for the state's employers. Connec cut ranks 3rd in the nation for advanced degrees . More than 16% of CT adults over the age of 25 have master's degrees. Connec cut ranks 5th in the nation for productivity per capita.
