In a May 8 letter dated, Stephen Davis, licensure unit manager at DPH, said UMass Memorial's plans to maintain access to behavioral health services after the bed closures -- as laid out for the Department in an April 28 letter -- would not sufficiently meet the needs of behavioral health patients, since a lot of the alternatives proposed by UMass Memorial are either too far away or not up and running yet. Hanover net income down 42% The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. reported its first quarter profits fell 42 percent at the start of the year. Net income for the first quarter was $45.2 million, compared to $78.2 million in the first quarter of 2016. Total reve- nues, however, were up nearly three per- cent to $1.3 billion from 1.2 billion before. Net premiums written increased to $1.19 billion, up from $1.14 billion in last year's first quarter. Since it started operating around this time last year, ridership on the express train has been fairly consistent. In June, the morning inbound train from Worcester averaged 160 customers and the evening outbound train from South Station averaged 66, and last month, 169 people rode the morning train, and 64 rode back to Worcester at night, on average.
