Louise Reid, assistant town manager for Old Orchard Beach, received an appreci- ation award from The Salvation Army for her service to the organization. SMRT, an architecture, engineering, planning and energy services fi rm in Portland, said Rebecca Casey earned the WELL Building Standard cre- dential, a standard for buildings, inte- rior spaces and communities seeking to incorporate and measure features that support and advance human health and wellness. Casey is a senior health care architect with the fi rm. The Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development announced that 2017 Top Gun entrepreneur Joan Drappeau was selected as the recipient of the "Victoria Hilliard Donovan Award," meant to encourage women entre- preneurs. Drappeau is co-founder of Codeweaving Inc., which is develop- ing a promotional platform off ering an innovative marketing channel for e-commerce called Hover8. Lipman & Katz, a law fi rm in Augusta, said that attorney Karen Boston received the highest Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review rating of "AV." Boston handles personal injury, family law and other civil litigation for the fi rm. Penobscot Community Health Care in Bangor awarded its annual "Dr. Robert P. Allen Quality Awards" to David Loxterkamp, Tim Hughes, Mary Beth Leone and Carol Kuhn at Seaport Community Health Center; Stephanie Partridge, Becky McMahan and Stephanie Riehl at Penobscot Community Health Center; David Rawcliffe, George Case, Jennifer Moss and Nathan McKnight at Brewer Medical Center; Hope House Health & Living Center; Controlled Substance Initiative Committee; Heather Blackwell, operations project manager; and Patty Hamilton, Bangor Public Health director, community health leadership board chair. Joshua Broder, president and CEO of Tilson in Portland, was named a "Top Young Professional" in New England by Engineering News-Record, the magazine of record for stakeholders in the commercial engineering and construction industries since 1917. Lois Dimitre, a lead dog training instruc- tor at Green Acres Kennel Shop in Bangor, recently graduated with distinction from the Karen Pryor Academy and has been named a Certifi ed Training Partner. Eaton Peabody, a law fi rm in Bangor, said its international legal alliance, TAGLaw, was recognized by Chambers & Partners as "Elite" for 2017, the high- est ranking awarded to legal networks and alliances. is is the fourth time the fi rm's alliance has received the designa- tion since ranking legal networks and alliances began in 2013. Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor won a Maine State Excellence Award from the New England Board of Higher Education. e award is presented to individuals, programs, organizations, institutions or businesses that exemplify the board's mission and specifi cally "exhibits excellence in pro- moting college readiness and success for the students of their state." Laura Mitchell of Starboard Leadership Consulting in Bangor earned e Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team Facilitator Accreditation. is two- year accreditation signifi es that Mitchell off ers expertise in deliver- ing e Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team program, in addition to being an accredited facilitator of the Everything DiSC suite of tools. The Insurance Professionals of Greater Portland, a local chapter of the International Association of Insurance Professionals, selected Amee Rice, a personal lines account manager at Clark Insurance, as "Insurance Professional of the Year" and Michelle Belanger, a personal lines underwriter at Patriot Insurance Co., as "Professional Underwriter of the Year." Ron Phillips, founder and retired presi- dent and CEO of Coastal Enterprises Inc., received an honorary Doctorate of Public Service during the Saint Joseph's College commencement. Phillips was recognized for his public service in developing fi nancial invest- ment and legislative initiatives that have created economic opportunity nationwide for people and places at the margins of the economy.
