REAL ESTATE CT's March home sales, prices up Connecticut home sales and prices grew modestly in March, realty records show. Sales of one-family dwellings rose 1.9 percent last month to 2,207 vs. 2,165 sold a year earlier, according to Boston business publisher The Warren Group's monthly tally of publicly available data. The median price of those homes grew 2.2 percent, to $230,000 vs. $225,000 a year ago. Year to date, there were 6,064 single- family home sales in 2017, compared to 5,696 over the first three months of 2016 — a 6.5 percent increase. Over the same period, the median price was $225,500 in 2017, down slightly from $227,000. "Home sales, and the prices of those sales, showed some very modest gains in the first quarter of 2017," said Timothy Warren, CEO of The Warren Group. "These data are for sales that closed in the first quarter. The shopping and negotiating of the deals took place in the winter months, but now we are entering the critical spring selling season. Realtors would love to see more activity in the next two quarters." Condominium sales statewide rose 17.8 percent in March to 670 units vs. 569 a year ago. Median sale price rose 3.8 percent to $150,500 vs. $145,000. E. UMass Amherst Data Center | Amherst, MA The facility included a 24-inch raised floor. This project entailed an initial build out capacity of 500 kW of computing power (approx. 56 server racks), while making accommodations for expansion to 1250 kW (approx. 126 server racks). The Uninterruptable Power Source (UPS) consisted of battery banks located adjacent to the server room and backed up by the existing building emergency generators. The data center cooling was achieved through a chilled water system that was provided by a new roof-mounted modular air chiller and supplemented from the existing central utility plant (CUP) chillers. A chilled water loop installed under the raised floor supplies the computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units.
