8 Business Profiles 2017 Worcester Business Journal www.wbjournal.com R ob Cleary's decision to launch a managed IT services business in 2001 continues to pay big dividends. While ClearCom IT Solutions, Inc. has experienced steady growth since its inception, the last couple of years have brought remarkable expan- sion on several fronts. Created to fill the gap between technology support and technology partnership, ClearCom fulfills the prom- ise "…to deliver excellence in the latest network technol- ogies and serve as your technology partner, providing you with enterprise level support and automation, regardless of the size of your company," says Cleary. Companies that utilize ClearCom's services benefit from having the resources of an entire IT department, but at a fraction of the cost of supporting an in-house department. "By engaging in ClearCom Managed Services, customers have the advantage of our monitor- ing systems that watch over your network, servers, lap- tops and desktops, 24/7," he says. "ClearCom Managed IT Services is a proactive approach to keeping your computers, servers and tech- nology systems up and running. The responsibility and risk associated with managing your IT systems shifts to ClearCom," Cleary says. "Traditionally, a 'break-fix' sup- port model works a lot like a plumber – you call them when something breaks. But in a managed services model, we proactively provide maintenance to achieve optimal network stability." Obviously, this model is working well as ClearCom has expanded well beyond the Commonwealth's borders and services clients in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, New York and Vermont. The compa - ny serves a variety of industries, including manufactur- ing, municipalities, service businesses, automobile deal- erships, accounting and legal services, schools, insur- ance agencies and retail. The surge in business has prompted ClearCom to increase its "family." Three new employees were hired in the last four months. This increase in business is reflected in ClearCom's bottom line, which hit a record in 2016. That upward climb continues this year. "First quarter 2017 revenue is up 29 percent over last year's first quarter," Cleary reports, adding that fiscal stability has enabled the com- pany to make its first acquisition. "ClearCom recently purchased MBS Network Services in Putnam, Connecticut." ClearCom's incredible growth can be attributed to Cleary's business acumen, which has earned kudos from the business community; he was named to the "40 Under 40" Class of 2016. "As we continue to grow, we never lose sight of giving back and have supported nonprofit organizations, including the Genesis Club, Leicester Library renovation fund and various local youth sports programs," Cleary says. "We also started an internship program with area colleges and tech schools and currently have two interns on a work-study program." As the company has expanded its geographic footprint and grown its staff, ClearCom's physical location could use several more square feet of space. "One of our major goals this year is to find a new location to support our growth, as we have outgrown our current building," Cleary says. n ClearCom IT Solutions, Inc.: Your Technology Partner L E I C E S T E R , M A ClearCom IT Solutions, Inc.
