It also promoted Andre Santiago to senior director of youth programs. Kottke, who succeeds the retired Cathy Tracy, worked most recently in a similar role at Hartford Performs. Goyzueta, who succeeds Laurie Robillard, was a volunteer and former employee of the YWCA and National Conference for Community & Justice. Wheeler Clinic promotes VP of finance to CFO Plainville-based Wheeler Clinic, which provides primary care and behavioral health services, has promoted Athena Dellas Szczesniak to chief fi- nancial officer from vice president of finance. As CFO, Dellas Szczesniak oversees all of Wheeler's finance, accounting, revenue cycle, practice manage- ment and purchasing functions. She joined Wheeler in 2005 from the American Red Cross in Farmington. CT Council for Philanthropy to get new president in May Karla Fortunato will become the new president of the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy, effective May 1. Fortunato comes to CCP after 13 years at the Health and Environmental Funders Network, a na- tional alliance of 60 philanthropic organizations based in Rockville, Md., where she has managed its programming, outreach and operations, promoting collaboration on shared goals among members. Fortunato follows Maggie Gunther Osborn, who departed in June for the national Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers. Trinity College announces new VP for college advancement Trinity College has appointed Michael T. Casey as vice president for college advancement, effec- tive in June. He will lead the advancement division — including development, alumni relations, and advancement information services — taking over from Jack Fracasso, who is retiring. Casey comes to Trinity from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., where he serves as the vice president for advancement. U.S. Trust names VP and private client associate in West Hartford office Drew Iacovazzi has joined U.S. Trust's West Hartford office as vice president and private client associate, leading a team offering wealth manage- ment programs that include investments, trust ser- vices, private banking and credit. Prior to joining U.S. Trust, Iacovazzi spent five years at Lindberg & Ripple, advising affluent clientele. First National Bank of Suffield promotes four The First National Bank of Suffield announced the promotion of four employees: Thomas Borek to commercial loan officer, David Iannucci to assis- tant vice president and residential lending manager, and Betty Rubner and Susan Adams to assistant vice presidents. Mintz + Hoke adds junior art director Avon marketing agency Mintz + Hoke has added Linda Carrillo as junior art director. Her responsibili- ties include developing creative concepts and exe- cuting design and communications projects. She previously worked as a freelance graphic de- signer and artist in the Hartford area. ConnectiCare names vice president Farmington-based ConnectiCare announced that Barbara Vernon has joined the company as vice president of middle market and large group sales and account management. Vernon brings 25-plus years of health-plan strat- egy experience to her new position and has spent her career working in the tri-state area, most re- cently in a senior leadership position with HealthyCT. AARP appoints CT president AARP Connecticut, a nonprofit with nearly 600,000 members, has appointed Cheshire resi- dent Wayne Detzler as its new volunteer state president. Detzler is resident chaplain at Elim Park in Cheshire, where he also helped found the retire- ment community's post-acute care and rehabilita- tion program. His professional and volunteer work has included a variety of roles from professor, to minister, to mis- sionary at schools, fire departments and more in the United States, Europe and Asia.
