Industrial deal of the year
GFI Partners' repositioning of 150 Blackstone River Road in Worcester was
named the 2016 Industrial Deal of the Year from the Commercial Brokers
Association. The Boston firm purchased the former U.S. Steel facility in 2013,
turning it into a 632,000-square-foot, high-bay distribution center, which is fully
leased.
Shelter & services
Ware-based Country Bank donated $5,000 to Friends of the Homeless in
Springfield, which provides shelter and job-search resources for the homeless.

Diamond days
Worcester's Beechwood Hotel is a four-diamond recipient, given the award
designation by AAA Northeast at its annual Five and Four Diamond Awards
luncheon. The Beechwood is the only AAA Four-Diamond rated property in

Transformation, technology
SALMON Health and Retirement completed renovations to Beaumont
Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center on Plantation Street in Worcester.
The updated space includes an outdoor rehabilitation area and new technology,
such as an anti-gravity treadmill. Cutler Associates of Worcester was involved in
the 11-month, $6-million project.
