The Boston hospital network bought three hospitals each in Ohio and Florida and two in Pennsylvania, it announced. The deal, if approved by regulators, is expected to close in the second half of the year. Worcester dentist cited for improper billing WORCESTER —Webster Square Dental Care, a Worcester dental office, improperly billed patients for about $247,000, the state auditor's office said. The Worcester office, along with Sawan & Sawan in Framingham, allegedly wrongly billed for a type of X-ray known as dental periapical radiographs, accord- ing to the office of State Auditor Suzanne Bump. Webster Square Dental Care improperly billed about 7,700 MassHealth patients, Bump said, from July 2010 to June 2015. Clinton, HealthAlliance to merge LEOMINSTER/CLINTON —The merger of UMass Memorial- HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster and UMass Memorial - Clinton and a proposed emergency department expansion were both approved by the Massachusetts Public Health Council, the healthcare system announced. Under the merger, expected to be offi- cial Oct. 1, Clinton Hospital will become a branch operating under the HealthAlliance license. Milford Regional post $7M loss MILFORD —The non-profit Milford Regional Medical Center ended 2016 with a financial loss of $6.99 million, even as its revenue and total number of patients increased. It's a 400-percent decrease from the $2.26-million positive margin the system had in 2015, accord- ing to the hospital's annual report. Milford Regional increased its revenues 5 percent to $270.1 million in 2016 vs. $249.2 million in 2015.
