Netter MD School of Medicine, has been selected as one of seven recipients of the 2017 Bruce Bradley Fellowship. Named in honor of The Leapfrog Group's first board chair, the Bruce Bradley Fellowship is a yearlong education and training program for corporate-health professionals who want to help steer employees and their families to safer, higher-quality hospitals and health systems. Fellows will learn how to measure and advocate for hospital quality and safety. After training, Leapfrog expects fellows will facilitate and promote employers' selection of higher-quality, safer hospitals and health systems locally, regionally and nationally. Mattie joined the Quinnipiac faculty in 2003. Kimberly Beauregard, president and CEO of InterCommunity Inc., has been appointed to the board of Qualidigm, a national healthcare consulting company based in Wethersfield. InterCommunity is a nonprofit community health center located in East Hartford that provides primary care and behavioral health services to individuals, families and communities in Connecticut. Beauregard has more than 30 years in behavioral health services in direct care and administration. Mindy S. Tompkins has been named a partner in Murtha Cullina LLP's healthcare practice group. Tompkins represents clients that include hospitals, physicians, physician groups, surgery centers and other healthcare businesses on a wide array of regulatory, general business and corporate matters. She also provides legal counsel to healthcare clients in employment law matters. Dr. Gerard Pregenzer has joined the medical staff of St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center as a specialist in urology. Pregenzer completed his residency training in urology at UConn Health in Farmington and a general surgery internship, also at UConn Health. Pregenzer's clinical interests include bladder dysfunction, post- prostatectomy urinary incontinence and stone disease. Katie Mauriello is the new executive director of Mulberry Gardens of Southington, a nonprofit assisted-living, adult day and memory care community, and member of Hartford HealthCare Senior Services. Mauriello has worked 20-plus years in senior-living communities, primarily with Hartford HealthCare Senior Services on the marketing teams at The Orchards at Southington, Arbor Rose at Jerome Home in New Britain and Cedar Mountain Commons in Newington. Timothy McClung has been named director of quality informatics with the Connecticut Hospital Association's ChimeData, which provides data products and analytics for hospitals and health systems to gauge performance in quality improvement and patient safety. McClung will work with hospitals participating in CHA's Toward Excellence in Care (TEIC), a program that provides acute-care hospitals with quality-improvement services through data collection and analysis of clinical processes and outcomes. Most recently, he was director of quality and patient safety at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y. Drs. Erica Lambert and Hemant Gupta have joined the medical staff of St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Lambert is a fellowship-trained specialist in urology with St. Francis Medical Group, board-certified in urology and has been in practice for eight years. She is an assistant professor at UConn School of Medicine, department of surgery, division of urology. Gupta is a specialist in internal medicine with St. Francis Medical Group and board certified in internal medicine. His clinical interests include disease prevention, medical informatics and population health management. He will see patients in Bloomfield and Hartford. Dr. Chia-Chi Wang recently joined the Middlesex Hospital Surgical Alliance and will dedicate most of her time to helping cancer patients. She will practice in Middletown. Wang comes from Beebe Medical Group in Lewes, Delaware. She performs a variety of oncological surgeries, including surgeries for gastric, pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancers. Dr. Lilyan A. Chirayath has joined the medical staff of St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center as a specialist in hospital medicine. Chirayath is board certified in internal medicine.
