In Connecticut, if you employ 50 or more people, your company must provide sexual harassment prevention training for managers and supervisors. CBIA's three-hour workshop includes discussion on prevention strategies related to inappropriate workplace behavior other than conduct of a sexual nature. Disrespectful or harassing behavior related to an employee's age, religion, race, or medical history — and even mere use of vulgarities — are increasingly just as likely to land an employer in court. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Cost to attend is: $143.57 for CBIA members; $223.24 for nonmembers. Connecticut Realtors said 2,307 single-family dwellings under- went closing last month vs. 2,020 sold in Jan. 2016. Median price for those sold houses was $235,000, a 2.2 per- cent gain from the year-earlier median, the group said. Townhome/condominium sales also grew in January but at a slower pace. There were 579 attached housing units sold last month vs. 468 sold a year earlier. Median price for those units was $155,000, a 4 percent gain from a year earlier. Meantime, the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors report- ed area housing sales also started 2017 strong in January, rising 23 percent from a year earlier. ConnectiCare's Farmington home for sale at $18.85M One of two Farm- ington office buildings housing health-plan provider ConnectiCare's corporate headquarters is for sale at $18.85 million, brokers say. The building at 175 Scott Swamp Road has 64,518 square feet of Class A office space, according to listing broker Marcus & Millichap. Known as Building One, the three-story, steel-frame edifice erect- ed in 2009 on the 16.8-acre campus houses about 200 ConnectiCare workers. It wasn't immediately clear who owns the building. ConnectiCare also fully occupies 14-year-old Building Two, where about 550 workers in its information-technology/customer service center are housed. ConnectiCare is into the eighth year of a 15-year lease for Build- ing One that expires in June 2024. The lease is structured with a 3-percent rental increase in year 11 of the base lease term. The lease also has three five-year options, Marcus & Millichap said. In addition, the building features a central entryway lobby, common areas and modern amenities. 1 All credit products, pricing and overdraft protection are subject to the normal credit approval process. 24 hour turnaround is based on receipt of completed application.
