The award recognizes Junior Achievement staff and boards that meet the organization's national standards in operational efficiency and pro- vide strong representation of the nonprofit's brand. • • • KEN CROWLEY RECOGNIZED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY Ken Crowley of Crowley Ford Lincoln in Plainville is one of six dealers worldwide to receive a Salute to Dealers award from Ford Motor Company, for his contributions to the community. As part of the award, Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services is donating $10,000 to a charity of each dealer's choice. • • • TRINITY, CSCU HEADS CO-CHAIR INNOVATION PANEL The presidents of Hartford's Trinity College and the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) system have been named co-chairs for a working group of private and public colleges devising a plan by May 1 to support innovation and entrepreneurship in Connecticut. Joanne Berger-Sweeney, a neuroscience professor and Trinity's presi- dent, and CSCU President Mark E. Ojakian co-chair the working group of more than 30 presidents of public and independent institutions of higher education. The working group was convened in response to state statute and is charged with producing a master plan to foster opportunities for inno- vation and entrepreneurship at institutions of higher education state- wide, officials said. WARD LEONARD DONATES TOYS TO CHILDREN CENTER FOR CARIBBEAN STUDIES LAUNCHED AT TRINITY FARMINGTON BANK HOSTS NETWORKING EVENT ▶ ▶ Ward Leonard, a Thomaston-based global industrial technology company, raised $3,500 and over 250 toys for local community service and charity programs as part of its Community Support Program. The $3,500 was donated to the Thomaston Public Library and the toys were given to Toys for Tots.
