Veneziano as a partner in the tax compliance department of its West Hartford of- fice. Veneziano has a wide range of experience in tax compliance, consulting and planning for private- ly held businesses and their owners. Veneziano joined BlumShapiro in 2013 from CohnReznick, where he was a tax manager. Hartford Preservation Alliance welcomes new board members Beth Pite and Naveed Sobhan have joined the Hartford Preservation Alliance board of directors. Pite is owner of Beth Pite Consulting, which serves small businesses and nonprofits, particularly in com- munity economic development, arts and heritage. She has worked as a corporate executive, managed arts organizations, taught at universities and served on numerous nonprofit boards. Sobhan is director of lending for the Hartford Community Loan Fund, a not-for-profit community development financial institution. St. Francis hires specialist in hospital medicine Dr. Lilyan A. Chirayath has joined the medical staff of St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center as a specialist in hospital medicine. Chirayath is board certified in internal medicine. Her clinical interests include travel medicine. Bristol Development Authority adds two staff professionals The Bristol Development Authority (BDA) has added Ani Chaghatzbanian as its new economic develop- ment specialist and Mark E. Thomas as marketing and public relations specialist. Both are new positions. Chaghatzbanian will help establish, promote and implement business development efforts and work closely with existing Bristol businesses on a variety of promotions, events and community awareness. Her duties also include researching and identifying poten- tial new businesses to locate in Bristol. Chaghatzba- nian most recently was a senior meeting planner for Eversource's energy-efficiency department. Thomas will develop and implement campaigns as- sociated with tourism development, community rela- tions and increasing awareness of business develop- ment efforts. He has more than 30 years of marketing and communications experience. Hartford Seminary names director of development and external relations Mark J. Drozdowski has joined Hartford Seminary as director of development and external relations. Drozdowski will oversee all fundraising within the seminary, including major gifts, planned giving, new donor development, special fundraising initiatives and capital campaigns. Drozdowski has 25 years of experience in higher education advancement and has held senior executive positions at the University of New Haven and the Uni- versity of Connecticut Foundation. CT Science Center elects trustees to board The Connecticut Science Center board of trust- ees has elected Dr. Elizabeth Brady, Jay Cartisano and Paul Lisella to its board of trustees. Brady is a member of the executive leadership team at Hartford HealthCare Medical Group. Brady also has served since 1992 as an assistant clinical profes- sor of surgery at the UConn School of Medicine. Cartisano is president of Connecticut Business Systems. Lisella joined Voya Financial in 2015 as senior vice president and head of the analytics and data management team. McDowell Jewett Communications names social media, digital director Hartford-based com- munications and public affairs firm McDowell Jewett Communications has hired Sarah Miner as director of social me- dia and digital content to oversee the integration of clients' social platforms, supervise content creation and develop integrated strategies to support marketing initiatives. Miner comes from All Points Digital, where she developed social strategy to support clients' online sales and engagement. She also is an adjunct pro- fessor of social media and community management at Quinnipiac University. Quisenberry Arcari Architects announces hiring, promotion Farmington-based Quisenberry Arcari (QA) Archi- tects recently hired Howard R. Howes as the firm's newest architect and promoted Rebecca Sarkosi to an associate of the firm. Howes has worked more than 40 years in ar- chitecture, including with Cesar Pelli & Associates, The S/L/A/M Collaborative, Paul Bailey Architect and Howes Architects. Sarkosi is a licensed interior de- signer who has been with QA Architects since 2012.
