Martinez won the BlackRock Prize, awarded to the best paper on cap- ital markets and mutual funds for a report he co-authored on "Measuring the Added Value of Stock Recommendations." Kang was awarded the PanAgora Asset Management's 2016 Crowell second prize for his paper titled "Real-time Corporate Sales and its Effects on Earnings Management, Surprises and Drift." • • • INTERNATIONAL FACILITY MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION PRESENTS AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE The International Facility Management Association Connecticut Chapter recently presented their 2016 Awards of Excellence. The public was asked to donate gently used winter coats and jackets at any of Best Cleaners' 13 locations, where they were then cleaned and delivered to Salvation Army centers and shelters in Hartford, Middletown, Meriden, Bristol, New Britain, New Haven, Bridgeport, New London and Waterbury. ▶ ▶ Farmington Bank retail administration and assistant branch managers initiated a holiday children's clothing drive to benefit My Sisters' Place, an organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Greater Hartford. Collectively, Farmington Bank employees donated more than 300 pieces of clothing including outfits, outerwear, accessories and much more to My Sisters' Place. CT HISTORICAL SOCIETY CELEBRATES OPENING OF NEW EXHIBIT BEST CLEANERS COLLECTS OVER 18,000 COATS FOR SALVATION ARMY FARMINGTON BANK LEADS CLOTHING DRIVE TO SUPPORT MY SISTERS' PLACE ▶ ▶ The Connecticut Historical Society recently celebrated the opening of its newest exhibit, "Connecticut Innovates! Presented by Connecticut Innovations." The attendees (shown above) included supporters from Connecticut companies such as UTC, Kaman, Electric Boat, Sikorsky and Protein Sciences.
