Edwin May III, board chair; Paul Mersereau, board secretary; and Gary Reynolds, PGA member and former First Tee of Connecticut coach, were elevated to emeritus director status after providing over 15 years of guidance and support. • • • TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP EARNS "BEST OF" AWARD The Travelers Championship in Cromwell was recently honored by the PGA TOUR at the TOUR's Tournament Meetings. The Travelers Championship earned an award for Best Special Event, for organizing and hosting the Bruce Edwards Foundation Benefit Dinner during the 2016 tournament at TPC River Highlands. • • • ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICIALS HONORED BY CERC Mary Kay Della Camera, intake manager at the Connecticut Small Business Development Center, and Shelly Saczynski, director of eco- nomic and community development at The United Illuminating Company, were presented with the Connie Maffeo Awards at CERC's annual Celebrate CT! event. The two were recognized for helping Connecticut businesses and advancing economic development in Connecticut. The event raised over $153,000 to support life- changing programs for at-risk girls and young women in the Greater Hartford area. ▶ ▶ The staff of Farmington Bank's historic Main Street branch in Farmington recently hosted kindergarten students from Noah Wallace Elementary School in Farmington. Students also saw the building's historic vault and board room. CT FUNERAL DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION COLLECTS TOYS FOR FAMILIES GIRL WITHIN LUNCHEON RAISES $153,000 FOR YOUNG WOMEN AND GIRLS STUDENTS VISIT HISTORIC FARMINGTON BANK BRANCH OFFICE ▶ ▶ Members of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association continued their 11-year holiday tradition of collecting toys for the Connecticut National Guard Service Member & Family Support Center's Operation ELF program.
