Behan as a director of tax in the firm's new Bloomfield office. Behan has provided accounting services to indi- viduals and businesses for more than 30 years with a background that includes corporate tax planning and planning for tax issues related to professional organizations, closely held businesses, owner/em- ployees and highly compensated executives. Prior to joining Moriarty & Primack, Behan was a director at Owens & Co. LLC and a tax manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Hartford Federal Credit Union announces new VP of lending and compliance Shayne Sweeney recently joined Hartford Federal Credit Union (HFCU) as vice president of lending and compliance. Sweeney, who has more than 15 years of con- sumer financing and lending experience, is respon- sible for managing all real estate, consumer loan and credit card activities as well as loan collections and regulatory compliance. Six physicians join clinical faculty at UConn Health Drs. Matthew Tremblay, Shannon DeGroff, Michael Kisicki, Shirin Schilling, Jurate Ivana- viciene and Ibrahim Elali have joined the clinical faculty at UConn Health in recent months. Tremblay is a neurologist who specializes in mul- tiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology. He directs the Department of Neurology's multiple sclerosis clinic. Tremblay joins UConn Health from the University of California, San Francisco, where he completed an MS fellowship. DeGroff is an obstetrician and gynecologist see- ing patients in UConn Health's Women's Center and at UConn Health's Canton office. She joins the facul- ty after training at UConn Health as an OB-GYN resi- dent, her last year as chief administrative resident. Kisicki is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who sees patients at UConn Health's West Hartford of- fice. Kisicki joins UConn Health from California, where he worked for Kaiser Permanente. He is board certified in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Schilling is a psychia- trist who stayed at UCo- nn Health following her residency training in psy- chiatry, which included a year as inpatient chief of psychiatry. Ivanaviciene is an in- fectious diseases physi- cian who joined the faculty after completing a fel- lowship in infectious diseases at UConn Health. Her areas of expertise include HIV/AIDS, travel medicine, and hepatitis B and C. Elali is a UConn-trained nephrologist who sees pa- tients in the UConn Dialysis Center and UConn Health's main building in Farmington as well as the UConn John Dempsey Hospital. Elali joined the faculty out of his UConn Health fellowship in nephrology. Seiger Gfeller Laurie names partner in West Hartford office Seiger Gfeller Laurie LLP, a litigation boutique, announced that Andrew P. Barsom has joined the firm as a partner in its West Hartford office. Barsom's law practice is focused primarily within the areas of banking and financial institution litiga- tion, commercial litigation, landlord-tenant matters, and commercial and personal debt collection. His experience includes working with clients in the financial services and banking industries, lend- ers, commercial landlords, assisted-living commu- nities, and skilled-nursing facilities. Robinson+Cole lawyer joins The First Tee of CT board The First Tee of Connecticut, a nonprofit that has reached out to more than 70,000 young people through the game of golf, has appointed Robinson+Cole lawyer Kenneth C. Baldwin to its board of directors. Baldwin is a partner in the firm's environmental and utilities group and works out of the Hartford office. QA Architects welcomes two to staff Farmington-based Quisenberry Arcari (QA) Archi- tects announced the addition of Kyle Baron as the firm's newest architectural designer and Caitlin Kehoe as marketing coordinator. Baron, who received his Master of Architecture degree in 2016, has focused on institutional, hous- ing development and commercial projects through multiple internships and previous employment. Kehoe has served as a coordinator and marketing professional for several professional service and film production companies before joining QA. Hartford Performs is a nonprofit col- laborative that brings teaching artists into Hartford Public Schools to teach curricu- lum in creative ways that engage students. The funds will help provide fathers with education and support to build strong social-emotional connec- tions with their children to ensure that their children are reaching literacy proficiency. • • • The Hartford Bishops' Foundation raised $770,075 during a recent gala to benefit the Cathedral of St. Joseph, the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Hart- ford. The money raised will support the construction of a new Cathedral Hall fea- turing education and community meeting facilities, dining area and mausoleum, as well as other renovations. • • • Capital for Change (C4C) was pre- sented with a $500,000 check from Ever- source to purchase the allocation of tax credits awarded to C4C earlier this year by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority Housing Tax Credit Contribution Program.
