The expansion follows recent growth of Solect's operations and maintenance services, and will see the company pur- suing new projects in Connecticut as a licensed Connecticut solar provider. The expansion marks the third state Solect will operate in following a recent expansion into Rhode Island. "Connecticut has seen tremendous growth in solar energy in the past four years, and is expected to continue that growth over the next several years and beyond," Craig Huntley, chief develop- ment officer and co-founder of Solect Energy, said in a statement. According to the company, Connecticut has so far installed 265 megawatts (MW) of solar energy, and is committed to 20 percent renewable ener- gy by 2020 with an expected 900 MW to be installed over the next five years. Kent McCord will be at the forefront of the expansion effort into Connecticut, according to Solect, putting to use his 15 years of experience in the renewable and alternative energy market. Prior to joining Solect, McCord was director of sales and marketing at Doosan Fuel Cell, a leading manufacturer of fuel cell combined-heat-and-power (CHP) systems in South Windsor, Conn. The last-minute reversal was preceded by months of preparation from Central Massachusetts companies, including giving out raises or instituting new time management protocols. WBJ readers, when polled, said all the shifting rules around overtime didn't really impact their business. F L A S H P O L L How is your business dealing with the halt to the overtime law change?
