UNMATCHED IMPACT. COMMUNITYP.COM President & CEO, Harrington HealthCare System, Southbridge H arrington continues to climb a healthy trajectory under Moore's direction. The dominant provider in South Worcester County has now set its sights on an expansion into Northeastern Connecticut, a region Moore said is in need of better access to special- ty care. H a r r i n g t o n will open a new inpatient behav- ioral health unit in Webster to serve people struggling with addiction and mental health. The system has grown its urgent care business, opening a second location in Oxford in November. Moore's stated goal for Harrington is to make the organization as strong as possible, so that if it needs to join forces with a larger provider one day, it is viewed as a vital asset. How will health care change? Shortage of primary care will continue with smaller hospitals being challenged as the industry moves to more risk- based contracts.
