The facility earned a 5-star consumer rating (the highest possible score) within the last year, meeting other qualifying criteria as well. Nationwide, there are only 67 Caring Super Stars chosen in 2017. Dr. Stephen Tosi, president of UMass Memorial Medical Group, has been chosen to receive the 2016 Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Award next month at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. MetroWest Health Foundation will be acknowledged for efforts in being a catalyst for health and wellness in the community. Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center earned a five-star overall rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which rates the nation's skilled nursing facilities on compliance, quality, staffing and other factors. The center, owned by Oriol Health Care, is run by Tara D'Andrea, administrator. Family Health Center of Worcester honored Worcester Mayor Joseph M. Petty, Worcester City Manager Edward M. Augustus Jr., Dr. Sarah H. Cheeseman and Mary Erickson recently. Mayor Petty and Augustus both received 2016 Healthy Communities Awards for their leadership in promoting the health of all local residents, and their advocacy in getting low income, vulnerable populations access to quality health care. Cheeseman was the 2016 recipient of the Dr. Felix G. Cataldo and Mrs. Anne M. Cataldo Lifetime Achievement Award. Mayor Petty presented a Key to the City to Mary Erickson, Family Health Center of Worcester staff member, in recognition of her 53-year commitment to patients. Reliant Medical Group of Worcester was named to Becker's Healthcare list of "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare," one of five physician practice and medical groups in the U.S. to get the honor. It's the third time Reliant has made this list, since it was first published in 2011. Milford Regional Medical Center was recognized for its treatment of infants exposed to drugs or alcohol while in the womb, by the Vermont Oxford Network. In 2015, Milford Regional got involved with a quality improvement collaborative sponsored by the nonprofit, to improve the care of substance abuse-exposed infants through live webinars and other efforts. VNA Care Network and VNA of Boston, certified home health care divisions of the Atrius Health subsidiary VNA Care, were named HomeCare Elite 2015 Top Agencies by OCS HomeCare, placing them in the top-performing 25 percent of home care agencies in the United States. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts selected UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery. Hospitals designated as Blue Distinction Centers for Spine Surgery demonstrate expertise in cervical and lumbar fusion, cervical laminectomy and lumbar laminectomy/discectomy procedures, resulting in fewer patient complications and hospital readmissions compared to other hospitals. GVNA HealthCare's Healthy Families Team has won the 2016 Children's Trust All-Star Award, with one of the highest rates of visits per participant in the state.
