HEALTH • Winter 2016 25 DR. PETER OFMAN has joined Nashoba Valley Medical Center as a cardiologist. He will provide general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology services to patients, including screenings, pacemaker implantation and other procedures, maintenance and follow-up care. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and completed a residency in internal medicine at Brown University Program Hospitals. He also completed several fellowships, including one in cardiovascular diseases at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, a cardiac electrophysiology and preventative cardiology fellowship at Brigham & Women's Hospital and VA Healthcare System in Boston, a cardiac electrophysiology and research fellowship at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and a cardiology fellowship at Hadassah- Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. DR. CHARLES H. EMERSON, professor emeritus of medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, was named president-elect of the American Thyroid Association for 2016-2017. DR. ZELING CHAU, general surgeon, joined the medical staff at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer. He earned his medical degree from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y., and completed his residency at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, where he served as chief surgical resident and received the 2016 H. Brownell Wheeler Outstanding Resident Award. He lives in Worcester, and is accepting new patients. MARY ANN O'CONNOR, president and CEO of VNA Care in Worcester, was appointed to the advisory board of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Strategic Management and Decision Making for Nurse Executives program, which is meant to enhance management and decision making at the public health school and the Simmons School of Nursing and Health Sciences. She has 35 years of healthcare management and leadership experience, 24 of which were at the senior executive level. She has been at the helm of VNA Care since 2012. DR. STEPHEN A. KLINGE is now an orthopedic surgeon at UMass Memorial- Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough. Klinge has experience treating people of all ages for sports trauma-related injuries and performing several knee, shoulder and hip procedures. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his orthopedic residency at Brown University, where he earned a fellowship. He also earned a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Connecticut. DR. LAURIE MARIN has been hired in the department of internal medicine at Reliant Medical Group, and will see patients in the Auburn office. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and holds a medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. Marin had 10 years of experience as a hospitalist. DR.
