From families who have lived here for generations to recent arrivals from Russia and Israel, Jewish Greater Hartford has it all — and the Federation is at its center. Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford is the only organization in this region that touches every aspect of Jewish life. We serve nearly 27,000 Jewish households in 37 towns across Greater Hartford. While Federation is best known for its annual fundraising campaign — which supports 26 partner agencies and programs — we also provide humanitarian and educational support in Israel and across the globe through The Jewish Agency for Israel, American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and World ORT. Here in Greater Hartford, Federation provides more than 20 direct programs and services, including programming on Israeli culture and technology, interfaith relations, and LGBTQ issues. Federation supports literacy programs for at-risk elementary school children, helps parents send their children to Jewish camps, and helps young adults make their first trip to Israel. Federation also trains the next generation of leaders and teachers to ensure a vibrant Jewish community for generations to come. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES Federation holds nearly 150 events each year, both fundraising and non-solicitation. Most are open to the public. Visions: Our largest annual men's fundraising event draws 300 men who contribute at least $365 annually. Our guest speaker this year is Emmy Award winning comedy writer Alan Zweibel. Voices: Our largest annual women's fundraising event draws 400 women who contribute at least $365 annually. Our guest speaker this year is fashion maven Melissa Rivers. CT-Israel Innovations Showcase: A joint production of Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, MetroHartford Alliance and Connecticut Economic Resource Center, the Showcase features Israeli businesses that have chosen Connecticut as their U.S. base of operations. Nearly 200 business leaders and Jewish community members attended in 2016. Several corporate sponsorship levels are available for these events and others throughout the year. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Federation's Annual Campaign kicks off each fall to raise resources for our partner agencies and programs, our community initiatives, and the Jewish community in Israel and 60 other countries. We offer socializing and networking opportunities through Men's and Women's Philanthropy, our Young Adult Division, the Jewish Professionals Network and other groups. Federation provides opportunities for advocacy and social action through the Jewish Community Relations Council and offers education and leadership development through the Commission on Jewish Education and Leadership. Many of our programs involve corporate sponsorship opportunities. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Everyone is welcome at Federation. Whether you'd like to read to at-risk children, grow a garden for the hungry, develop your Jewish leadership skills or just make a few phone calls on Super Sunday, we can connect you.
