GrowSmart elected Rebecca Casey, Hon. Don Marean and Lynne Seeley to its board of directors. Casey is an architect at PDT Architects, Marean is a fourth- term Republican member of the House of Representatives and Seeley is a community planning consultant. Girl Scouts of Maine in South Portland elected Betsey Timm as president of its board of directors. Timm is a retired bank executive. In addition, the orga- nization also elected Caroline McAleese Riley as fi rst vice president and Janet O'Toole treasurer. Riley is the managing principal/public relations for Garrand and O'Toole is principal of the accounting fi rm Honeck O'Toole. New at-large board members include Janet Boone, director of inside sales, Sappi Fine Paper; Kay Henry, entrepreneur and co-founder of Northern Forest Canoe Trail; Julia Munsey, partner, Dougherty Project Management; Kathryn Burke Pratt, senior manager of retail marketing, L.L.Bean; and Donna Watson, fi nancial services professional. Joy Osterhout was elected to the Broadreach Family & Community Services board of directors. Osterhout serves as regional director of commu- nity health and wellness for both Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital. Recipients included gold level: Acadia Hospital, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Bridgton Hospital, Cary Medical Center, Central Maine Medical Center, Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital, Down East Community Hospital, Eastern Maine Medical Center, Franklin Community Health Network, Houlton Regional Hospital, Inland Hospital, LincolnHealth, Maine Medical Center, MaineGeneral Medical Center, Mayo Regional Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Mid Coast-Parkview Health Service, Millinocket Regional Hospital, Mount Desert Island Hospital, Northern Maine Medical Center, Pen Bay Medical Center, Penobscot Valley Hospital, Rumford Hospital, Sebasticook Valley Health, Southern Maine Health Care, Spring Harbor Hospital, Stephens Memorial Hospital, The Aroostook Medical Center, Waldo County General Hospital and York Hospital; silver level: Redington-Fairview General Hospital; and bronze level: Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland. In addition, "Individual Gold Star" awards went to Martha Bucklin, Mount Desert Island Hospital; and Donna Chamoff, Maura McDonald and Deirdre Sulka Meister, Maine Medical Center. Portland Water District's distribu- tion supervisor, Ryan Bourque, com- pleted Maine Joint Environmental Training Coordinating Committee's Management Candidate School. e year-long program was designed to prepare water professionals for career advancement in utility management. Kathy Jones, city clerk with the city of Portland, was presented with the Lorraine M. Fleury Award at the Maine State Elections Administration Conference held at Sunday River in Newry. e award recognizes an individual who has made a signifi cant contribution to the election process and who exemplifi es the qualities of fairness, experience, knowledge and service. Shaheen & Gordon PA, a law fi rm in Saco, said attorney Peter Schroeter was named the Best Lawyers 2017 media- tion "Lawyer of the Year" in Maine. Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors maga- zine received six awards, including being named a fi nalist in the under- 30,000 circulation category for maga- zine of the year, at the 36th annual International Regional Magazine Association awards dinner held in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Sappi North America, a producer and supplier of diversifi ed paper and pack- aging products, received a Champion of Economic Development Award from the Maine Development Foundation for its eff orts to drive Maine's econ- omy forward.
