The owners of Sakura Tokyo posted the announcement of the closure on Facebook thanking patrons for the last 25 years and announcing that the Japanese steak house's last day of busi- ness was Oct.15. "We have enjoyed being there with you to celebrate your joyous occasions and comforting you while you grieved," the restaurant posted. Boston restaurant group expanding to Shrewsbury Burtons Grill & Bar, which is head- quartered in Boston and has 14 locations on the East Coast, plans to add seven locations in the next two years, includ- ing to Shrewsbury. Burtons is growing its Burton Grill & Bar and sister restaurant Red Heat Tavern locations throughout the region, hoping to add to its 4.4-percent growth in same store sales since 2005 and aver- age sales of $4.1 million. The seven new locations will be in Shrewsbury; Charlotte, N.C.; and Boca Raton, Fla. Railers rank 14th in ECHL for corporate sponsorships With a year before the puck drops on its first game, the Worcester Railers HC is already among the top half of ECHL hockey teams in corporate sponsorship sales, the club's owner announced. If the Railers began their season this year, the team would rank 14th of the 28 ECHL teams in corporate sponsorship sales, Owner Cliff Rucker announced in October at a Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce event. The goal is for the team to be among the top three ECHL teams in corporate sales by the time the Railers start playing games in October 2017, said Rucker. Worcester Academy to an- chor $18M hockey center Worcester Academy has agreed to be the first high school tenant at the new Worcester Sports Center, marking the first tenant for the sports complex under construction in the Canal District. Under the agreement, the WA's boys and girls ice hockey teams will maintain team rooms at the center. The agreement also allows the teams to practice daily and use the space for home games. Opening this summer, the $18-million WSC will house youth, high school and collegiate players.
