LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT The American Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives at its annual meeting in August presented David McKeehan, former president and CEO of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, with its Life Member Award, the chamber of commerce profession's highest individual annual. McKeehan, who was one of four awardees this year, led the merger of the Fitchburg and Leominster chambers of commerce in 1984 to form the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, which he led until his retirement in 2015. HEALTHCARE HEAD START Thanks to a $2.25-million federal grant, Fitchburg and Leominster's high school freshmen can join Project Healthcare, a program administered by Mount Wachusett Community College that prepares students for careers in healthcare and addresses racial and ethnic disparities in the field.
