A soft opening was held Aug. 25. The new owners are Victoria Mariano and Adi Tibrewal. Clark University in Worcester completed construction on its $23.8-million Alumni and Student Engagement Center. Construction on the structure – which is four stories, 35,000 square feet and has solar roof panels – began in February. Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer completed an expansion of its inpatient psychiatry unit for senior citizens. The hospital, part of Steward Health Care System, added four new patient rooms. Maynard construction management firm JM Coull completed an outdoor playscape at the Discovery Museum in Acton. Discovery Woods, as the project is called, is the second in a multiphase effort to expand the museum's indoor and outdoor footprint. A new Amcomm Wireless store is opening at 62 West Main St. in Spencer. The company is a Verizon Premium Retailer, with 26 locations throughout New England. The new Regional Emergency Communication and Emergency Operations Center has opened in Worcester. The site, at 2 Coppage Dr., is also a 911 training facility and houses offices for the city's Emergency Communications Department and Emergency Management Division staff.
