4 AI Engineers, Inc. T here is an acute realization within the AI organization that a big picture approach is needed. Consulting engineer- ing firms must understand a community's needs, wants, socio-economical dynamics and cross-generational expectations in order to deliver projects holistically. AI operates from a broad perspec- tive and wide base of knowledge and experience. As a multidisciplinary firm, it distinguishes itself from other engineering companies by providing a full-service alternative to clients such as federal, state, and municipal agencies, transportation authorities, electric utilities, private corpora - tions and land developers. AI couples the client-service focus and timely attention of a smaller engineering firm with the compre- hensive offerings of a larger corporation. Clients are not the only organizations recognizing AI's excellence. The firm has risen to 383rd on the Engineering News-Record's (ENR) list of the Top 500 Design Firms of 2016. AI continues to win numerous awards and accolades from the Ameri - can Council of Engineering (ACEC), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and Associated General Contrac- tors of Connecticut (AGCCT), among others. Recognitions such as these are the result of AI's culture of entrepreneurism, assuring each team member takes ownership of and brings fresh solutions to each project. AI's engineers challenge conventional engineering and project methods, especially when conventional approach falls short of meeting current functional and operational standards. While complying with local, state and federal codes and regulations, AI's engineers are also willing to seek other creative options when such solutions can bring more value for the Today's engineers and project managers simply cannot afford to offer simple, conventional solutions to complex problems. An Unconventional Organization buck. For example, this can be as simple as suggesting a new field procedure, or even implementing new techniques that minimize or elimi- nate high-traffic bridge or road delays during construc- tion or inspection. Being a learning organi- zation is a large part of AI's success. As technology races to meet the ever-chang- ing needs of infrastruc- ture, AI's open and collaborative environ- ment allows knowledge sharing from every level of professional from within and outside the
