Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle received $4.7 million to fund the reconstruction of approximately 3,950 feet of the existing taxiway pavement that has reached the end of its use; Brunswick Executive Airport received $2.45 million to fund the rehabilitation of Hangar 4 to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act and code compliance requirements; and the Biddeford Municipal Airport received $337,345 for the removal of tree obstructions in the Runway 6 approach surface and acquire one property, which is required for the obstruction removal project. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded supplemental grants to carry out cleanup and redevelopment projects at contaminated brownfi elds, including $300,000 each to the Greater Portland Council of Governments and the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council. U.S. Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded a total of $1.64 million in grant funding to four Maine school districts and a rural health care provider through the Distance Learning and Telemedicine Loan and Grant program to help con- nect rural communities with medical and educational experts in other parts of the country. MaineHealth received $398,692; Maine Regional School Unit 33/Maine School Administrative District 33, $366,459; Maine Regional School Unit 13 received $327,466; Maine Regional School Unit 87/Maine School Administrative District 23, $312,744; and Maine Regional School Unit 80/Maine School Administrative District 4, $239,235.
