In Central Massachusetts, it is often Creedon & Co. Worcester caterer Creedon has taken its unique combination of catering capabilities and event hosting to respond in emergencies and make sure those emergency workers putting things back in place have the grounding they need to get their job done. "Creedon & Co. does catering and food service as well as tents and rental equipment," said Vice President John Creedon Jr. "We feel we are uniquely positioned to go into a situation and set up base camp, so to speak, and make sure folks are nourished and have a place to touch down in a situation where they might be out of their ordinary routine." Both companies and public agencies have contracted Creedon for their support services, he said, as often many people are brought in from outside the area to respond to these kinds of issues. This role has played out during major blizzards, for MBTA staff clearing rail lines of snow, and when the blizzard struck Monson in 2011. The caterer will bring in tents, lighting, heat and flooring to create a base of operations and provide catering as needed, Creedon said. The business has been providing these services for approximately 10 years. "We're able to make it easy for these companies or these agencies to have one ... contact," he said. It is a good fit for the company, he said, since often other work they would be doing is cancelled during these times, Creedon said. "We take great pride in being able to be nimble and respond and go in when other people are going out," he said. - Sam Bonacci Creedon & Co. supports disaster relief Creedon & Co. at the state staging area outside Hanscom Field in Bedford in February 2015.
