HATS OFF TO GRADUATES UMass Medical School in Worcester awarded 227 degrees at its 43rd Commencement on Sunday, June 5. People, places and happenings in Central Massachusetts e Cancer Center at Harrington in Southbridge received a $1,552 donation from the Route 395 Basketball League. Price Chopper, with stores in Central Mass., has raised more than $153,000 from its month-long pin-up campaign and the sale of more than 8,500 plush primates for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan donated hundreds of personal care packages to LUK, a Worcester social agency, for distribution to homeless youth across Worcester County. Boston Medical HealthNet Plan assembled the kits, which included soap, sanitizer, toothbrushes, toothpaste and more. REACHING NEW HEIGHTS Fallon Health donated a $15,000 grant to Appalachian Mountain Club's Youth Opportunities Program "Summit Sites" in both Worcester and Lowell-Lawrence. COMMUNITY CARE Harrington HealthCare donated $5,000 to St. John Paul II parish in Southbridge, for its efforts to help homelessness.
