firsthand. The company provides gas turbine fuel nozzles, accessories repair and
overhaul services to the power, oil and gas, and industrial markets. Through
PRIME, EthosEnergy's workforce was trained in lean principles and developed
solutions to enhance operations.
"As a result of the changes we made, we were able to push our product
through with a lot less man-hours, ultimately using less energy," said Mike
Howarth, Operations Manager — Aero, Military & Accessories at EthosEnergy.
"This made us more cost effective and able to competitively price our services,
which helped us secure a long-term contract with the U.S. Navy."

The Small Business Energy Advantage Program helped
White Flower Farm, a family-owned, international plant
importer and retail nursery, secure two interest-free loans
to finance projects at its headquarters in Litchfield and
a warehouse in Torrington. More advanced grow lights
and new lighting fixtures, an HVAC system and a variable-
frequency drive water pump were some of the upgrades.
The farm is now saving more than $100,000 annually
through electric and natural gas efficiency.
"I never dreamed our company would be able to
complete a project this size so quickly with minimal out-of-
pocket," White Flower Farm president Lorraine Calder said.
