Growth Through Sharing There are times when the needs of the patient community don't precisely match the existing capacity and availability of services offered within ECHN. When necessary, ECHN works cooperatively with physicians from other health care networks in order to address important health needs in the most collaborative and effi cient manner. Partners in Pain Management ECHN recently recognized the need for an expanded pain management practice to serve its community. Pain management seeks to address a patient's chronic joint, muscle or nerve pain through non-surgical, non-prescription drug treatments. With a very small population of physicians specially trained in this area of medicine, ECHN gathered professionals from three different health systems, including its own. No matter their affi liation, all three physicians treat pain management patients at Manchester Memorial Hospital, effectively improving access to this important service east of the river. As the community continues to grow and change, ECHN stays in step by changing and growing itself. Growing capacity. Growing services. Growing capability. Growing innovation. Growing healthier. 1995 Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH) and Rockville General Hospital (RGH) merge to form ECHN 1997 Regional Radiation Therapy Service for Cancer Treatment Glastonbury Wellness Center 1998 Medical Matters Doctor Referral Service 1999 The John A.
