The grant will be used to support the Con- necticut Food Bank Kids' BackPack program that helps bridge the weekend meal gap for children who receive free or reduced-price lunches at school. The money will help secure healthy food for people who are in need. The event took place in Hartford and was attended by thousands of walkers. • • • The Connecticut Historical Society received a competitive grant from Connecti- cut Humanities for nearly $5,000 to help fund Mas: Carnival Costumes from Hartford's West Indian Com- munities, an exhibit exploring the tradi- tions and heritage of Carnival masquerade costumes made in Hartford.
