20 UConn School of Business "I really believe, with all my heart, that I'm teaching accounting, but more than that I'm just trying to teach young people how to be a better person and how to achieve more in life,'' said Dick Kochanek, accounting professor emeritus who retired in December after devoting 43 years to teaching. "We have a quote for every class and they all focus on being the best you can be. I want them to get the point that every day they should be using more and more of their talents…that they can achieve great things but they have to work very, very hard.'' "What we teach is based on what we study, know and care deeply about, and hopefully our students—be they undergraduates, master's level, Ph.D., executives or corporate attendees at our executive events—will all learn from our passion and commitment.'' — Lucy Gilson, professor and department head of management, and academic director for the Geno Auriemma UConn Leadership Conference OUR FACULTY Chinmoy Ghosh, professor and department head of finance Dean Ronald Patten (left) talks with professors including Mo Hussein (2nd from left) in November 1978.
