In this newly created role, Modano will be responsible for accomplishing the company's goal of submitting an Investigational New Drug application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for HART's new cellframe technology for the esophagus. Mondano has more than 20 years of experience in regulatory affairs for biotechnology companies, including Sanofi Genzyme, Histogenics Corp., Anika Therapeutics, Inc. and Boston Scientific Corp. She holds a bachelor's degree in medical technology from the University of New Hampshire and took classes in mechanical engineering technology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. AMOS ADELOWO has joined the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Reliant Medical Group in Worcester. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Adelowo will see patients at Reliant's Worcester Medical Center site at Saint Vincent Hospital. Prior to joining Reliant, he was an assistant professor in the division of female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Emory University Hospital and School of Medicine. Before that, he was a resident in OB/GYN at University of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Worcester and was a fellow in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery and a clinical instructor at Mount Auburn Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School in Cambridge. The real estate firm is based in Boylston. n Gardner's Wachusett Community College won the Boston Foundation's Deval Patrick Award for Community Colleges, a $50,000 award. The college was chosen for its Advanced Manufacturing Technology Programs – stackable programs that address local employer training needs. n Alan Ellman of Natick won the CAREFirst Award at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He has served as a volunteer at Newton-Wellesley since last June. n Worcester's Commerce Bank earned the highest designation, Blue Ribbon Bank, from banking analysis firm VERIBANC Inc., for the quarter ending Dec. 31. It's the 12th consecutive quarter that the bank has achieved this recognition. n Herb Chambers BMW of Sudbury won Center of Excellence honors from BMW of North America LLC, one of 32 dealerships nationwide to do so. Dealers are measured against their peers on 11 key performance indicators, including customer orientation, aftersales and sales data. FRESH BEGINNINGS Reliant Medical Group opened its latest ReadyMED location, at 366 Shrewsbury St. in Worcester. The new facility, in a newly constructed building, occupies 14,000 square feet. The facility will serve infants, children and adults and offer CT scans and intravenous treatment options. Exhibit 'A' Brewing Co. will open this summer, at the former Jack's Abby Craft Lagers site at 81 Morton St. in Framingham. Exhibit 'A' is owned by Matthew Steinberg. Social service agency CENTRO of Worcester is buying the former People in Peril, or PIP, shelter at 701 Main St. in the city. CENTRO plans to turn the site into a performing arts center. Dairy Queen, as part of a plan to add 60 Bay State franchises over five years to its current 33, will expand into Worcester. The location or locations were not immediately available. Dairy Queen is owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Curious Escape Rooms, at 359 Main St. in Fitchburg, will open in April or May. It's a room-escape puzzle where participants have to solve the puzzle to escape. Curious Escape Rooms is owned by Audrey Chow of Fitchburg and Jeremy Pendleton. Cost per group will be between $25 and $28. Metrowest Kung Fu is open at 69 Main St. in Maynard, serving children and adults. The school, owned by Sihing Eliot Prisby, also offers yoga and tai chi. Bob Malone team members, working with other departments to enhance the overall banking experience, originating loans and overseeing staff. As an officer, he will be responsible for making long term decisions for the bank. He holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Rhode Island. DARRYL RICHARDSON was promoted to assistant vice president, branch manager at Workers' Credit Union. Richardson was previously the assistant vice president for the credit union's Fitchburg office. He has 30 years of banking experience at has worked at Workers' for five years. A Marlborough resident, Richardson is on the finance committee for the Arc of Opportunity in Fitchburg and is a member of the Rotary Club of Fitchburg. MICHELLE ANDERSON was named physician recruitment manager at Harrington HealthCare System in Southbridge. Anderson has been with the company since 2008, when she was hired as a medical secretary in the diagnostic imaging department before being promoted to executive assistant to President and CEO Edward H. Moore. As physician recruitment manager, she will support physician development, recruitment and onboarding functions for the nonprofit and its affiliated Harrington Physician Services. VICTORIA BATES is now a physician liaison/recruiter at Harrington HealthCare System in Southbridge. She previously spent 34 years at Day Kimball Hospital, where she worked in recruitment, development and other departments. At Harrington, she will focus on physician retention and engagement efforts. A graduate of Quinebaug Valley Community College in Danielson, Conn., Bates lives in Brooklyn, Conn. with her husband Marc. Together they have five children and 12 grandchildren. BARRY D. BLISS was named senior vice president and chief commercial banking officer at Fidelity Bank in Leominster. Bliss has 30 years of experience in commercial lending across Massachusetts and New England and most recently worked as senior vice president, managing senior credit officer, at TD Bank. He holds a master's degree in business administration from Babson College and a bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire. He lives in Framingham. JOHN VILLALI has been hired as research director at IDC Energy Insights in Framingham. In his new role, Villali will be responsible for providing leadership in utility digital transformation. He most recently worked as a principal consultant concentrating on wholesale and retail power markets at DNV-GL. Before that, he was head of Americas power at Thomson Reuters. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts.
