Colorectal Cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States for both men and women. It is estimated there will be more than 130,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed this year. While there is no way to prevent it, regular colorectal cancer screenings are one of the most powerful weapons for detecting colorectal cancer early, when it is most treatable. To help raise awareness this month, Harrington HealthCare will bring an "Inflatable Colon" to its main hospital campus in Southbridge (100 South St.) on Friday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The 10x12 foot inflatable display will sit just outside the main entrance. The community is invited to come and learn about colorectal disease and the importance of preventive screeni ngs like colonoscopies.
