The Foundation approved $3.95 million over three years in grants and technical assistance to support this initiative, which targets low-literate and low-skilled resi- dents of Greater Hartford, including single parents, at-risk youth, immigrants, home- less heads of household, former offenders, and others who need a broad range of coor- dinated services to be successful. The ini- tiative enhances or expands existing pro- grams and pilots new approaches. • • • The Prudential Foundation has awarded The University of Hartford's Entrepreneurial Center, located on the Asy- lum Avenue campus in Hartford, a renewed grant of $75,000. The award will be used to support the Small Business Technical Assistance Training Program, which pro- vides training, business advising, and tech- nical assistance to aspiring and established Connecticut small business owners. • • • Now in its seventh year, KBE Building Corp.'s 50 Ways to Make a Difference cor- porate philanthropy program has donated more than $1.7 million and 11,474 volun- teer hours. Residents in Farmington and Norwalk, where the firm has its offices, have received meals, gifts, grants, and more through the program. • • • Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder, a nation- ally known law firm with offices in Bridge- port, New Haven and Danbury, has made a $100,000 donation to Bike Walk Con- necticut in recognition of the work of Sean Alexander and Colleen Kelly Alex- ander, who were elected to the nonprofit's board in 2015.
